It has been over 4 months since the official announcement of China 1st phase 20 CSP pilot project list in September 2016. As the government said only those which could be completed by the end of 2018 would enjoy the FiT of RMB1.15/kWh. Thus, around only 23 months are left for construction, which seems to be quite hard work for the project participators. Below are the newly updated progresses of the 20 pilot CSP projects:

1.Under construction/bidding

1.1 CGN Delingha 50MW Parabolic Trough Project

• Feasibility study institute: Northwest Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: providers of detailed design, receiver tube, reflector, steam turbine and other key components have been confirmed. Project construction keeps going on even in winter.

1.2 Beijing Shouhang IHW Resources Saving Technology (SunCan) 100MW Molten Salt Tower Project

• Feasibility study institute: Guangdong Northeast Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: 1st phase of 10MW tower project has been put into operation. 2nd phase of 100MW project is under construction with the tower foundation established. The steam turbine tender has been completed, and some providers of other key components have been confirmed. It is expected to be completed in the mid of 2018.

1.3 Shenzhen Jinfan Akesai 50MW molten salt Parabolic Trough Project

• Feasibility study institute: Northwest Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: Electricity matching started in 2013, and water diversion project in 2015. Supporting facilities are under construction, and equipment procurement is in the preparation stage.

1.4 Qinghai SUPCON Solar Delingha50MW Molten Salt Tower Project

• Feasibility study institute: Northwest Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: 1st phase of 10MW tower project has been put into operation. Feasibility study is completed and commencement ceremony has been held. Key components like steam turbine is under procurement.

1.5 Rayspower Group Yumen 50MW Parabolic Trough Project

• Feasibility study institute: Northwest Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: feasibility study is completed and commencement ceremony has been held. Inner Mongolia Electric Power Survey Design Co., Ltd has been awarded to be responsible for preliminarily design, survey and general design.

1.6 Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Hami 50MW MS Tower Project

• Feasibility study institute: Northwest Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: feasibility study is completed and commencement ceremony has been held. Biddings for solar field system, steam turbine, SGS, and generator have been launched and the results will come out soon. 

1.7 Zhongyang Chabei 64MW Parabolic Trough Project

• Feasibility research Institute: Central South Survey Design Institute

• Recent news: The commencement ceremony was held in 2014. The developer is working on financing. 

1.8 Yumen Xinneng 50MW Molten Salt Tower Project

• Feasibility study institute: North China Power Engineering Co., Ltd 

• Recent news: feasibility study is being reviewed and EPC tender is going on.

1.9 Guohua Yumen 100MW Molten Salt Tower Project

• Feasibility study institute: Northwest Electric Power Design Institute

• Recent news: feasibility study is completed and EPC tender is going on. The winner will be awarded on Feb.8 out of 6 candidates. 

1.10 China Nuclear Royal Tech Wuzhongqi 100MW Parabolic Trough Project

• Recent news: feasibility study is completed and the key component biddings are expected to be open soon. Project construction is expected to start in mid of April.

• Recent news: feasibility review has been finished and key component biddings are expected to be open soon. Project construction is expected to start in mid of April.

2.1 Huanghe Hydropower Development 135MW Molten Salt Tower Project

• Recent news: feasibility study has been finished, and technical route has been changed to molten salt tower.

2.2 Zhangbei Huaqiang Group Zhangjiakou DSG 50MW CLFR Project

• Feasibility study Institute: Hebei Institute of Survey and Design

• Recent news: 1st phase of 10MW is expected to operate soon, and feasibility study for the 50 MW project has been completed.

2.3 DCTC Dunhuang 50MW Molten Salt CLFR Project

• Recent news: The feasibility review has been finished.

2.4 Northern United Power Urad 50MW CLFR Project
