On March 23, the first meeting of the international working group of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard "Technology specification for solar field control system of solar tower power plant" (PT62862-4-2) led by China was successfully held.

The meeting was organized by Jin Jianxiang, standard convener, chairman and chief engineer of Cosin Solar Technology Co.,Ltd., and joined together by Wang Yi, deputy director of the Standardization Management Center of China Electricity Council, and other experts totaling 38 in related fields from 7 countries including China, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan and Morocco, through the network.

The meeting introduced the background, main content, handling of previous comments and follow-up work plan of the standard. In-depth discussions on the draft clauses and key technical issues were carried out during the meeting. Next, the working group will further refine the draft according to the contents of the meeting, and prepare for the second international working group meeting.

This standard was officially approved by IEC in December 2021, and is the fourth standard proposal put forward by China in the Solar Thermal Power Station Technical Committee (IEC/TC117). This standard can provide strong support for the design, construction, commissioning and operation of the solar concentrating and thermal receiving system of tower CSP, and effectively improve the operation efficiency of system. It is a core technical standard of tower CSP and plays an important role in IEC standard system.
