Amongst China 1st batch of CSP demonstrations, SUPCON Solar Delingha 50MW CSP plant takes molten salt central tower technology with 7 hours' thermal electricity storage system. A total number of 27,135 heliostats (20 square meter) will be installed for the project.
As Mr. Jin Jianxiang, Chairman of SUPCON Solar told CSP Focus, recently the project team are quite busy with the onsite installation. The central receiver will be completed with 32 pieces, of which 28 pieces have been transported to the project venue and the other 5 (one is for backup) are one the way.

July 2013, SUPCON built 10MW tower CSP project in Delingha, which is the first commercial CSP tower project in China and the third in the world. Molten salt renovation was finished on Aug. 2016. Over 95% core equipment was make in China, which broke the monopoly of overseas molten salt CSP tower project core technology and it was a great milestone of CSP technology localization.
The 50MW project will be finished by the end of this year and achieve stable output in February 2019.
